We had a fun weekend like two weeks ago, haha. We got to go to a baseball game with an attorney from the firm Taylor is at. They got two babysitters and we got to leave the kids at their house. It was so nice to have a datenight! It has been a while! Saturday we went and saw Up and I love it! It was a random movie though, haha. We also got to go to a little beach thing. Aiden loved it! I don't have any pictures of all this fun! :-<
Aiden got his cavity fixed. I was hoping that the meds they gave him would make it so he was way relaxed and wouldn't remember it. (They were supposed to) No such luck. He still brings it up and says, "Mommy, I didn't want them to hold me down" and "Mommy, it was hard to breathe." Poor guy.
He has also been saying some of the cutest things lately. I'm not sure why but every time he says something funny or clever I feel the need to write it down. The other day I asked him to do something and he said, "I think I have to finish my booger picking." He also says his tummy hurts and will come up with clever reasons why like because he needs to play (while we are eating dinner) or because he needs to watch cartoons.
The other day he all the sudden got really upset and said that he didn't want to be 3 anymore. He wanted to be 2. I told him that I was magic and that I could make him 2 again. I pretended to do a spell. He sat and watched with a serious look on his face. I told him I was done and he said in his saddest voice, "Mom it didn't work. I'm still 3."
We have been having some "deep" conversations lately. He wants to know everything about everything. We had just dropped Taylor off at work and this was our conversation:
Aiden: Daddy go to work so he can buy me toys?
Mom: Ya he does and so he can buy our clothes and our house and our car.
Aiden: Daddy go to the gym school or the law school? (He used to ask this in Provo. He always wanted to know if we were picking up Dad from the gym or the law building.)
Me: Daddy is at the law work.
Aiden: What the law like?
Me: The laws are the rules that everyone has to follow.
Aiden: What are the rules like?
Me: They are the things that everyone in the world has to do (struggling to find words to explain this to a 3 year old, haha)
Aiden: What the world like?
Me: It's a planet that we all live on.
Aiden: A world like the park? (We have a park by our house in Provo that has a concrete world.)
Me: Ya, like at the park. That's a picture of it
Aiden: A world like the Earth?
Me: Ya!!
It's so fun to try and explain things to him and listen to how he thinks, haha. We have been working on his letters this summer and he is doing so good. He knows all the sounds of all the letters. He has also started to sound out some simple words. He still has trouble figuring out what word the sounds turn into but he sounds out the letters in the right order if that makes since. So fun! I can't wait to get him into preschool next year. I think he is going to love it!
Eva had her 12 month check up and her iron is low. It has been low since her 9 month check so they are thinking that she is still sensitive to dairy! I feel so bad for her! We have to try the non-dairy diet out for the next 6 weeks to see if that helps. She hasn't really taken a liking to eating solid foods, so I think that may be part of the reason. She just needs to eat more!!
Another exciting happening in our life...Taylor made Law Review for this upcoming school year! He is way excited. It does mean we have to be up in Provo a week earlier so I am a little disapointed we won't get to go to AZ that week, but all is well! Yay Taylor!
Last weekend Jess was in Las Vegas and we got to hang out! It was so fun to see her and Rowland! We went to a restaurant in the MGM that was so yummy. Aiden enjoyed seeing the lions!
This last weekend we made a short trip to Provo to take care of some random things. Driving with two children can be so overwhelming. We did have fun once we got there though. Aiden and Eva were so excited to see all of their toys. Aiden is very confused about all of this though. We got to meet up with our friends the Shelley's. It was so fun to see them and their cute baby Porter. Jess also came and spent the night that night. It was fun to stay up late and chat! We miss Provo! The weather was wonderful!

Lawson still asks about Aiden. When we get together with Julian and Mark he always asks where Aiden is. He misses his wrestling buddy! Eva is getting so big. Her hair is so cute. I love her bangs! Yay for Taylor. Tell him congrats. I love reading all the cute things Aiden is saying. The world is exciting again with kids, isn't it? I miss you a ton. Hope you're doing great!
You guys sound so busy! I miss you and your kids. Harrison and Jackson talk about your family all the time. Congrats to Taylor. It stinks that you won't get to come down but good for him!

You guys have been super busy! I love all those things Aiden has been saying! He is hilarious! You guys still have to go try Serendipity sometime while you're there! So yummy! Jess and Roland are so cute together!
Ashlyn's iron was a little low at her 9 month but they redid it right after and it came back ok so they haven't tested it again since. She was never good at eating although she got used to the oatmeal and that's the only thing I could get her to eat for awhile. Hopefully Eva isn't still sensitive to dairy! I bet your right that she just needs more iron riched food. I would just mix rice or oatmeal in everything she will eat since they have iron in them. Hopefully she will grow out of that stage.
